No snow for us :((

Well this is what most of New Zealand woke to this morning. No it isnt falling stars, this is snow. This photo was taken by a girl on FB who lives in Chrishchurch which is in the South Island for those who dont know. Her camera made the little lines from the snow flakes, such a beautiful picture.

I on the other hand had this kind of weather (see below). Now this wasnt taken at different times of the day, this was taken from different windows of my house at the same time. Not what I call beautiful snowy white by any means.

Ryan slept in till 9am (wow i was so impressed) just hope he isnt coming down with something. My joy was shortlived though because as soon as i put him in his chair he turned into this. Awesome i thought to myself, hoping it would pass.

It didnt..at 3pm when i was vaccuming he decided to lie down in the middle of the floor in the way and when asked to please move for mummy so i can vacum this is the face i got.

Wow not an easy day for either of us i dont think. Fingers crossed tommorow will be better. Ryan has daycare from 8am till 2pm and he does really enjoy it so hope it goes well. I always ask the daycare how his day was and they take photos so i can see what he gets up to during the day. Its cool.

I was missing our dog this morning. Tzara who left us not to long ago. She was a pitbull and so so beautiful. But then i found this picture on FB while browsing.
All together now "Awwwwwwwwwwwww!" Hehe cute picture i thought.

Recipe of the day

2 large pears (400g), peeled, cored and coarsely chopped
1 cup raw sugar
125g butter, melted
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 cup self-raising flour
½ cup wholemeal flour
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp mixed spice
½ tsp grated nutmeg
½ tsp ground ginger
½ cup raisins
1. Heat oven to 180°C. Grease a 22cm springform cake tin and line the base with nonstick baking paper. Combine chopped pears and sugar in a bowl. Pour on melted butter, add egg and stir to combine.
2. Sift flours, baking soda and spices over the pear mixture and stir to just combine. Stir in raisins. Spread mixture into prepared cake tin. Bake for 50 minutes or until a skewer inserted comes out clean.
3. Remove to cool in tin for 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely. Dust with icing sugar and slice to serve.

Heres the one i made today :)))
